Donald Trump was released after his arrest

Following his court appearance in Manhattan, New York, former US President Donald Trump has been released from police custody. The hearing saw 34 charges initially not proven, with Trump claiming his innocence of all accusations.

Scheduled to return to court for a hearing on December 4, Trump plans to give a speech at Mar-a-Lago, Florida around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday local time. Trump is accused of paying $130,000 in bribes to porn star Stormy Daniels to keep their relationship secret before the 2016 election, which he denies.

Being the first former US president to face criminal charges, Trump is using the case as a tool to increase his support. Despite being impeached twice during his presidency, he claims that he is facing "political persecution". He has raised millions of dollars from supporters to fight the lawsuit and has already announced his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election.

Donald Trump had arrived in New York from his Florida residence on Monday night for his court appearance, marking a significant moment in US history with this criminal case. When asked about Trump, the current President Joe Biden declined to comment.
